About Us

FRIENDS OF ST PATRICK - TRANSPARENT.png

The Friendly Sons and Daughters started with a very simple idea in mind: an Irish American banquet celebrating the cheer of St. Patrick’s season. Over the years, our members in attendance have been comprised of family members, friends, and extensions of our personal networks from the Hartford area.

For over 50 years, we’ve enjoyed the company of many fine individuals from all walks of life and different generations holding dear their Irish ancestry. Thanks to support from direct natives of Ireland and multigenerational descendants, our tradition has pressed on to the present day. Our philanthropy includes a donation to a worthy cause, chose an annually and awarded at our dinner.

In recent years, we’ve invited the company of our daughters, wives, mothers and sisters, formally becoming the Friendly Sons and Daughters of today. Additionally, we are proud to announce the beginning of the Dan Nolan Legacy Scholarship in memory of our fallen brother, a dedicated service worker and proud Irish American. It’s our hope to offer aid to a few lucky lads or lasses in pursuing a promising future just as Dan helped countless others.

As we’ve previously only promoted our event through word of mouth, we’re taking steps to open attendance to new members, so please don’t hesitate to reach out with questions and hopefully you and some family & friends will join us this March!
